With methodical development and testing
Micro-Vu has carefully molded the latest generation of measurements
systems. These measuring machines feature advanced electronics,
mechanics, and software
ELECTRONICS:
New electronics are the heart of the Vertex
and Excel measuring machines.
Micro-Vu has designed PCBs that use embedded code
and DSP technology for the brains of a highly reliable servo motion
control system. High performance electronics results in high performance
systems.
Systems use USB communications which is standard
on the newest and fastest computers. USB provides high speed data
transfer for faster measurements. Micro-Vu's systems can be upgraded
with newer computers.
LIGHTING:
Micro-Vu pioneered LED lighting on Vision Measuring Machines over
ten years ago. Now Micro-Vu offers eight interchangeable surface
ring lights on the Vertex and Excel measuring machines. Micro-Vu
first introduced white LED lighting for color systems in 1998 and
continues to use red LED monochromatic lights on black and white
systems.
The Vertex and Excel measuring machines feature
a variety of surface ring lights to enable the measurement of very
difficult parts. The ring lights, with a myriad of angular options
for many measurement applications, are controlled by a simple graphic
display in the InSpec software
Profile (back lighting) and Coaxial lighting capabilities
are standard on all Vertex and Excel measuring machines. The gantry
styled Excel machines feature a unique collimated, traveling light
system.
MECHANICS:
The measuring platforms on Micro-Vu's newest Vertex
and Excel machines incorporate a Monorail
design. The Monorail is coupled with state of the art electronics,
featuring dual servo encoders. The benefits include increased rigidity
and minimized friction for smooth motion resulting in very high
accuracy and repeatability.
The Vertex machines feature
a modular self aligning drive system. The compound axis measuring
platform achieves speeds of 10 inches per second.
The Excel machines are
gantry systems, which result in compact machines with very large
measuring capacities. The Excel features
a capstan drive, providing high speeds of 20 inches per second and
superb reliability.
SOFTWARE:
Micro-Vu has improved and refined the InSpec
Metrology Software based on more than ten years of user input.
InSpec is simple, yet powerful software enabling the measurement
of a variety of parts. Customizable user setting and ease of use,
allow InSpec to be used by operators of all skill levels.
InSpec Highlights:
- Runs on a Windows 2000 operating system
- Measures using many different image tools
- Interfaces with SPC, CAD, and form analysis software
- Provides password protection
- Generates reports automatically
- Nonlinear calibration for measuring stages and lenses
InSpec has the flexibility for multi-sensor technology
and will be expandable for future applications. The same software
is available for automated and manual machines. InSpec is used on
all Micro-Vu measuring platforms, including the Vertex, Excel, Matrix,
Vector, Spectra, and Quantum measuring machines.
