Micro-Vu Corporation offers
a broad line of non-contact and multi-sensor measuring systems.
With 26 automated vision models, 160 manual video models, and 12
comparator models, Micro-Vu has a measuring system to meet your
needs.
Three basic questions can help determine which
machine is best for your application.
SIZE
1) How big
are your parts?
Consider the size of your current parts,
future parts, and fixtures
used to hold your parts. These three factors
will determine the measurement area you require.
To meet the diverse needs of our customers, Micro-Vu
offers machines from 150x150mm (6"x6") to 1200x1500mm
(48"x60") with many sizes in between.
The column on the right shows the basic measurement
areas for the different models of machines.
TOLERANCES
2) What are your tolerances?
Check some part prints to determine the "tightest"
tolerances. Then choose a machine that is more accurate.
Micro-Vu offers many machines with accuracies ranging from +/- 1
micron to +/- 50 microns (from +/- 0.000040" to +/- 0.002").
If part tolerances are "loose",
then selecting a "loose" machine can save money. Also
consider whether a high accuracy machine might be needed in the
future. Micro-Vu uses the same InSpec software on all of the machines.
If you require multiple machines with different accuracy or size,
operators learn one powerful yet easy to use software.
QUANTITY
3) How many parts are inspected?
The number of parts you plan to inspect will influence the type
and size of machine that is best for you.
An automated vision system can save a significant
amount of time as well as increase measurement accuracy.
Also, a larger automated machine can measure multiple parts in a
fixture and further reduce operator time.
A manual video system with InSpec software can
save time especially with reporting compared to a system with a
simple DRO.
OTHER CRITERIA
Space and budget often arise as additional selection criteria.
Micro-Vu's latest systems use a split stage for
small systems and a gantry design for large systems to minimize
the size of machines.
You will also find that Micro-Vu continues its
tradition of fair, forthright pricing.
